The present book deals with the art of the four Central Asian Soviet Socialist Republics- the Kirghiz Republic, the Tajik Republic and the Uzbek Rebuplic. They occupy an area stretching from the Caspian Sea in the west to mthe Chinese border in the east, a region of strikingly diverse climatic zones.
