Evan's Remains is created in 2020 by Matías Schmied and published by Whitethorn Digital mystery-puzzle adventure game, the entire plot of which is based on the search for the missing brilliant boy - Evan. In addition to the typical puzzle games features, Evan's Remains also includes a visual novel, thriller and platform games factors. StoryMany years have passed since a boy named Evan went missing. One day, a young woman, Dysis, receives a letter in which said Evan wants her to find him. Dysis discovers a mysterious island and begins her adventure there.
As part of the story development, Dysis must solve various puzzles, meet other characters and learn the mystery of Evan's disappearance. Evan's Remains GameplayDespite the pixel art of the game, the mysterious island where all the action takes place looks quite beautiful, which can be confusing because the plot details happen to be really dark. During the game, you run, walk, jump a lot, and chat in visual novel style conversation boxes. Solving the next puzzles involves jumping on the wall with platforms, and as the game progresses, the story moves on. Some of the platforms can throw you into the air, block your path, or teleport you to another location.
The puzzles become a bit more challenging with each step, but ultimately solving them is not just about the skill of movement, but rather about logical thinking while overcoming the obstacle. ReceptionSmooth 2D motion graphics and perfectly selected soundtrack, as well as the unique form of presenting the story, carried in the game, met with a pretty positive reception on Steam. The game also collected some impressive awards.
