Zespół The National na 8 września zapowiedział premierę siódmego albumu `Sleep Well Beast`, który ukaże się nakładem 4AD. Płyta `Sleep Well Beast` została wyprodukowana przez Aarona Dessnera, we współpracy z Brycem Dessnerem i Mattem Berningerem w nowojorskim studiu Aarona. Za miks odpowiedzialny był Peter Katis. Płyta dostępna będzie na CD, podwójnym, białym LP oraz w wersji limitowanej na podwójnym niebieskim winylu. Pierwszym singlem z tej płyty jest utwór 'The System Only Dreams in Total Darkness', do którego powstał teledysk:
